Want to Succeed?

Who does not want to succeed? From having a dream to making it a part of your everyday reality – that is what life is all about. Yet, there is many a slip between the cup and the lip, as many of us know. Between dreaming a dream and making a success story out of it, there are a number of steps that one needs to take in order to bridge the gap.

Your dream could be anything. But the main thing it needs is the want to succeed. Whether you dream of saving up and starting your own cafe, or publishing a book on your own, or owning a successful blog – the want to succeed is the main thing that is required to add fuel to the raging fire of passion behind your dream. Yet, there is one thing that holds most of us back, and if we want to succeed we need to stop doing this one thing.

Questioning.

Want to succeed? Stop Questioning!

That’s right. In order to succeed, you need to stop questioning. If you want to succeed, you need to believe that you are doing what you need to do. You need to do it unquestioningly. Here are a few questions that may hold you back:

Am I on the right track?

Am I right in letting go of my stable job?

How will I pay the rent?

Is this a real job?

Is this working?

Is this going to help?

These, and few questions like them may plague you every single day, but if you want to succeed, it is imperative for you to stop questioning and start doing. It may be easy to doubt yourself and question your decision to follow your dream, but if you want to succeed you have to learn how to effectively shush out those questions and focus on the task on hand. Only then can you pour your best efforts into the same for some results to start showing. So how can you ignore those questions? Here’s how.

Start by taking stock of your situation before you quit that job to follow your dream. Do you have enough savings to help you out while you wait for your passion to start paying you? What are your other financial commitments? How do you plan on taking on your passion? Do you require some extra training or tools which may, in turn, require some investment? When you are done answering these questions, you will have fewer questions when it comes to starting.

Also, if you want to succeed, you will need to know that it will not be easy or fast. It will take time. So you might want to invest some time in a part time job while you are at it. This will also help in giving you a wider perspective in terms of real time skills required to succeed at your dream.

When you stop questioning and tell yourself that this is now your job, you will also gain a better sense of focus which will make the process worthwhile. This will help you assimilate facts and figures that much faster and that much more seriously so that you put some effort towards your want to succeed. Questions effectively make you defy your want to succeed and make you wonder whether or not you actually will. This will defeat all your efforts and make you put in less and less effort until you finally give up entirely. Get the science behind questions? Yet, it is important to pose questions while you are on your path to success, as this will help you stay on track. But these questions should have to do with opportunities and challenges rather than internal questions about the dream itself. Do you see the difference?

The first thing that you need to conquer if you want to succeed are the questions in your mind. Once you stop questioning, you will take on your passion like a normal job, with normal hours, and a routine that will guarantee improvisation, evolution, productivity and success.
