The award season is here and so is a slew of stories reporting the fashion choices made by world famous celebrities and their red carpet walk. The Golden Globes 2017 have come and gone with a massive display of fashion forward choices on the red carpet. Here are the top trends that we found at this year’s do!
– Nude: This was a major fashion trend that one could see on the red carpet, this year. While nudes have been in fashion for decades, this year, almost every second celebrity was dressed in an understated grown with plenty of sequins to match the glitzy pop of the flashbulbs. In attendance with this nude look, we also saw a peekaboo trend that is futuristic yet elegantly played out. To do it like a celebrity, wear a boat neck piece with plenty of sheer panels along the sides and a sequined front! Play with peach, beige and grey yet remember to combine with silver to keep it classy and uppity!
– Yellow: That’s right – yellow! Who would have thought, right? But stars like Natalie Portman decided to bring much elegance to the bump cladding exercise as she brought in starry maternity wear with this mustard take on yellow. The silvery accents lift the cuts of this gown while her hair makes for a simple statement. To do it like the stars, get a yellow top and combine it with a pretty white skirt with silver sky scraper stilettos.
– Monochrome: This was another major trend worn by many. Sheer panels with organdy additions and black and white patterns with a patchwork of colourful, feminine applique work – that is the kind of fun we are talking about. The celebrities did not disappoint with staid and A line numbers. They have finally learnt how to have fun with this two toned statement, taking it all up a notch with flairful skirts and flowing gowns. Jessica Biel added just the right punch with her dress (of course the adoring gaze of the husband helped to no end), while Sarah Jessica Parker went full on virginal in her white, meringue number! Do it like a celebrity by adding a few pretty flowers to your hair!
– Pink: We never thought we would say this but the bubble gum explosion on the red carpet this year was actually quite a becoming treat for the eyes. Felicity Jones and Zoe Saldana added much style to this hue with the layered numbers and old school look they wore – almost golden Hollywood there! Take a cue from the celebrities and park yourself in two tones of pink to create a memorable look.
